Integration of the sustainable development goals into the educational component of «Life safety and fundamentals of occupational safety»

The article explores the possibilities and benefits of integrating the Sustainable Development Goals 4 «Quality Education» and 8.8 «Safe Working Conditions», into the educational component «Life safety and fundamentals of occupational safety». The relevance of this approach in the context of socio-political instability, transformations of the educational system, digitalization and new risks associated with global challenges is substantiated. Purpose. The goal is to unlock the potential of the educational component «Life safety and fundamentals of occupational safety» for the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals, in particular in the direction of forming competencies of the XXI century on safety, human rights, labor relations and a culture of decent work. Methods. The study uses a content analysis of curricula and regulatory sources, an analysis of publications in scientific literature, a synthesis of UNESCO competence models, a SWOT analysis of the integration of the Sustainable Development Goals into Ukrainian education, and a comparative method of studying international experience. Results. In the process of the study, the leading scientific approaches, regulatory documents, as well as strategic guidelines of UNESCO and the UN on the implementation of the Sustainable Development Goals in educational policy were analyzed. The potential of the discipline «Life Safety and the Basics of Labor Protection» as a platform for the formation of interdisciplinary competencies for sustainable development has been clarified. Based on the analysis of UNESCO methodological recommendations, the typology of tasks focused on the competence development of students was adapted, and the author’s table of educational, cognitive, behavioral and socio-emotional learning outcomes was formed. A SWOT analysis of the readiness of the central education of Ukraine has been carried out until the principles of steel development in the designated component have been implemented. The assessment of the renewal of the standard standards, the expansion of the initial content to the central orientation of the steel development, as well as the implementation of the courses of qualification qualification for the highlights, as well as the digital, legal and ethical aspects of security. Conclusions. The study proves that the systematic integration of the Sustainable Development Goals into the educational process not only improves the quality of training of applicants, but also contributes to the formation of a responsible citizen with a high level of environmental, legal and labor culture. Practical results can be used in the process of updating the content of higher education, in the development of methodological recommendations for teachers and advanced training programs.
