Game elements, mechanics and approaches are widely used in practice to create the resulting light medium, stimulate team work and cognitive activity. Objective. The aim of this exposition is to scrutinize gamification as an innovative pedagogical stratagem that galvanizes the self-directed endeavors of future educators, fosters their zeal for professional advancement, and delineates the cardinal conditions for the efficacious integration of gamified elements into the educational continuum of higher pedagogical institutions. Methods. To attain the stipulated objective, a theoretical dissection of scholarly literature was employed, which delineated the principal paradigms of gamification and its locus within the educational sphere. The method of comparative analysis facilitated the discernment of the merits and demerits of deploying gamification technologies. Results. The discourse elucidates the foundational tenets of gamification that underpin its efficacy in the professional grooming of nascent educators: autonomy in task selection, provision of feedback, stimulation of social interplay through collaborative quests, and the infusion of narrative elements. The potentialities of digital platforms such as Kahoot!, Scratch, Alice, MinecraftEdu, and WorldofClasscraft were appraised in the context of cultivating pivotal professional competencies among students—digital literacy, critical cogitation, communicative prowess, and capacities for creative and project-based reasoning. Key ludic elements (points, badges, quests, progress bars) were identified as architects of a motivating educational ethos, inciting initiative and conscientious engagement with learning. Exemplars of triumphant gamification integration into academic curricula are adduced. Conclusions. Gamification stands as a potent catalyst for elevating the motivation of future pedagogues toward self-reliant professional growth, as it engenders a dynamic, enthralling, and secure milieu conducive to the flourishing of individual agency, creativity, autonomous decision-making, and collaborative synergy. Ludic elements not only kindle an ardor for learning but also cultivate aptitudes for self-reflection, the articulation of professional aspirations, and the construction of personalized educational trajectories. Ergo, gamification occupies a pivotal niche in the modernization of higher pedagogical education, bolstering students’ preparedness for the exigencies of professional practice and nurturing a culture of perpetual self-refinement.
