The usage of artificial intelligence in teaching translation in conditions of digitization of higher linguistic education

Purpose: this article describes the connection between globalization, translation and localization. Author researches the influence of globalization processes on development of translations and stresses the need to consider cultural and language peculiarities of various regions whilst making localization of products and services. The research is aimed at establishing the connection between globalization, translation and artificial intelligence. Objectives of research were reached by conducting methods of scientific analysis of scientific articles about globalization, localization and translation and conducting comparison analysis of articles. Globalization is reviewed from various perspectives such as the influence of globalization on economy, culture and science. Translation is considered in this article as a tool of intercultural communication. Author defines key features of proper modern translation as locale and localization. Scientific novelty of this research lies in the description of connection between globalization, localization and translation. The benefits of using AI for translation are also described. Result: in conclusion the research findings have significant practical implications for both translators and companies operating in the global market. The study has shown that globalization has led to an increased demand for translation services and imposed new requirements on translation quality. It has been found that artificial intelligence technologies significantly simplify the localization process and increase its efficiency. Author concludes the research stating that globalization is a powerful driver of change in the field of translation and localization. To succeed in a globalized environment, translators need to possess not only linguistic competencies but also knowledge in the fields of cultural studies and technology. A promising direction for further research is to study the impact of artificial intelligence on the quality of machine translation and its integration into translation management systems.
