Abstract

Addressing the problems of health preservation and the formation of a culture of a healthy lifestyle is justified by the social situation in Ukraine, military operations, and environmental hazards. The article examines the problems of the formation of health-saving competence as a component of the professional training of future teachers in higher education. The purpose of the article is to highlight the views of scientists on the specifics of the formation of health-saving competence of students of higher pedagogical education.

Methods: analysis of scientific literature, generalization, systematization, comparison. The results of the study made it possible to define the concept of «health-preserving competence» as a permanent process of transformation of the main aspects of education and self-education, which expresses the practical orientation of the individual based on the integration of theoretical knowledge and practical experience in the direction of preserving and strengthening both individual and public health. The concept of «forming and preserving the professional health of a teacher» is formulated. The socio-psychological, professional and didactic adaptation to the educational environment of the institution in the process of forming the health-preserving competence of future teachers is characterized. The external (normative-legal, environmental and organizational-management) and internal (personal) components of the process of forming the health-saving competence of future teachers are singled out. Pedagogical conditions for the formation of health-preserving competence of future teachers in a higher education institution are proposed.

Conclusions. A reliable indicator of the true humanity of the educational institution activity is the presence in the pedagogical arsenal and the active use of health-saving work technologies that have developmental potential and do not allow individual-personal destruction at any level: physiological, mental, social, moral, etc. The health-preserving strategy of pedagogical activity consists in analyzing the health-preserving possibilities of the educational component, learning technologies, to develop own means that ensure the formation of health-preserving competence of the students.
