The article describes the characteristics of the discipline ‘Biomechanics’, which we cover on the basis of kinesiology, including; characterises it as an important educational component of the programme of higher education students majoring in 017 ”Physical Culture and Sports” in higher education institutions. The purpose of the study is to define and characterise the discipline ‘Biomechanics’, which we also reveal on the basis of kinesiology as an important educational component of the programme for higher education students majoring in 017 ‘Physical Culture and Sports’ in higher education institutions. The research methods used in the course of solving the tasks outlined by us are: 1) analysis, systematisation and synthesis of theoretical information on the issues we are studying, which is available in modern educational and methodological literature and publications available on modern scientific and metric platforms; 2) development of infographics and author's multimedia projects used in teaching disciplines for higher education students majoring in 017 “Physical Culture and Sports”. Results. The features of teaching the discipline ‘Biomechanics’ for higher education students in the educational environment of higher education institutions are thoroughly covered; the features of the interdisciplinary interconnection of individual educational components with each other are presented; samples of visual support materials for educational material are presented. The modern theoretical basis of domestic and foreign authors for studying the discipline ‘Biomechanics’ is presented. Conclusions. The authors highlight the peculiarities of studying the discipline ‘Biomechanics’ for higher education students in higher education institutions in the field of knowledge 01 “Education”, speciality 017 “Physical Culture and Sports” during the full-scale invasion of Russia into the territory of our state and reveal its individual aspects as an important educational component that should be to be covered on the basis of kinesiology. The interdisciplinary connections of this educational component with other basic and elective components of the educational and professional programme, in particular, such as “Swimming and methods of its teaching”, “Athletics and accelerated movement”, “Physical culture and sports rehabilitation and adaptive sports” are highlighted. The work presents the author's teaching materials that are recommended for use by higher education students in higher education institutions when studying the discipline “Biomechanics”. Utilize syntactic constructions typical of scientific documents, steering clear of complex grammatical structures. Employ terminology standard in foreign specialized texts, particularly in sociology, economics, etc. Maintain consistency in terminology between the abstract and the main text of the article.
